“On the heels of Kitty’s return from London, a new werewolf shows up in Denver, one who threatens to split the pack by challenging Kitty’s authority at every turn. The timing could not be worse; Kitty needs all the allies she can muster to go against the ancient vampire, Roman, if she’s to have any hope of defeating his Long Game. But there’s more to this intruder than there seems, and Kitty must uncover the truth, fast. Meanwhile, Cormac pursues an unknown entity wreaking havoc across Denver; and a vampire from the Order of St. Lazaurus tempts Rick with the means to transform his life forever.”

And so another adventure begins…

I have never actually read a single Kitty book. Shame on me I suppose. But I am curious, so that’s something. What do you guys think, should I finally take the plunge and give Kitty and her werewolf shenanigans a shot? Or is this a series I should pass on? Let me know in a comment below.

For current Kitty fans, are you excited about the upcoming release?

  1. This series is truly amazing. Kitty is a very strong and witty main character and I have enjoyed every page so far. While I don’t feel Carrie Vaughn has developed any other character as much as she has done for Kitty, I do highly recommend this book. The story telling doesn’t drag on for me. I cannot wait for Kitty Rocks the House. You have plenty of time to get in and find out what’s gone on up until now.

  2. Read the first couple books. Original, creative and they move along well. Like the other poster noted, it gets repetitive and a little tired after a while, but the first – I’d say 3 – books are good and very worth reading.

  3. Hmmm…. I’ve only had a problem with the book, Kitty and the Dead Man’s Hand when she ends up in Las Vegas. To me that was the weakest of the series, mildly helped by the book just after that finishes out the overall arch between those two.

I’ve greatly enjoyed the series and don’t recall feeling it was repetitive and that’s having gone back to reread the series a few times.

  4. I agree with Silver Fox, Kitty and the Dead Man’s Hand was really the worst book in the series. The books aren’t that repetitive though they do share reoccuring scenes. I do like how Carrie Vaughn built her werewolves into balanced characters there are bonuses and consequences to being one.
