Another DOG SOLDIERS?

I won’t say that I’ve been champing at the bit (Note: I didn’t misspell the word “champing”, there; “champing” is correct, not “chomping”—there’s your English lesson for today. See, Mom, all those years spent working towards that English degree and that teaching degree weren’t wasted!) for a sequel to DOG SOLDIERS. I sure wouldn’t turn one down, but I am always hungering for good quality werewolf movies in general. Movies very much *like* DOG SOLDIERS. But there weren’t any characters in that movie that I just *have* to see again. Just werewolves, more werewolves, werewolves like the ones in DOG SOLDIERS, a really terrific werewolf movie.

That being said, it looks like there is hope for a sequel. Pimping his new movie THE LAIR—which is likened by director Neil Marshall to his previous “full-blooded horror and intense genre action” films DOG SOLDIERS and THE DESCENT—told Den of Geek that “There’s more of a chance now [for a sequel] than ever before. There’s things in the works and we’re seeing what we can do. Certainly, myself and Kevin McKidd and [producer] Chris Figg are up for it to revisit this world. Over the past 18 years the question I get asked pretty much more than anything else is when are we going to get Dog Soldiers 2?’ Part of me thinks I’d like to go back and re-visit that world somehow. And if Kev’s up for it, then that would make it worthwhile for sure. So we’ll see. You never know.” Sounds good to me!
