The CW’s hit show The Vampire Diaries went far beyond everyone’s expectations, growing and growing in popularity with each fantastic episode. You’ve got Elena Gilbert, the human stuck between two gorgeous vampire brothers. The first brother being Stefan Salvatore, the sweet and kind vegetarian vampire, then you’ve got Damon Salvatore, the hot as hell, dangerously wicked vamp. The show, based on the novels by L.J. Smith is non-stop drama and excellence.
But what does this vampire show have to do with werewolves? Well faithful readers, it turns out that there is a werewolf in the book series. That doesn’t necessarily mean that there will be one in the show though, so far the show hasn’t followed too closely to the books. But there have been rumors that Elena’s brother, Jeremy, will play the part of the werewolf, even though he wasn’t the werewolf in the book. I don’t have much faith in this rumor, Jeremy being turned into a werewolf doesn’t really seem to fit into the storyline. But who knows, maybe in another season.
In a recent interview with Steven R. McQueen, who plays Jeremy in the show, he commented on the werewolf rumor by saying, “I know in the books, Tyler was the werewolf,” he said. “From script to script, we don’t really know too much ahead of time, but we did hear they might change that up. We’re not 100 percent sure on how that’s shaping to unfold itself.”
Unfortunately that’s all he had to say about it. Don’t you hate when actors tease you like that? But as you can see, no werewolf… yet. As I said before, a werewolf doesn’t fit into the story now, but later it might. And maybe they will make Jeremy the werewolf, after all, in the books Jeremy didn’t exist. In fact, Elena didn’t have a little brother at all, she had a little sister named Margaret. So if the writers changed that BIG thing, they may change other big things as well.
Wait and see.
