Werewolf Son Kills Vampire Mother
Listen, y’all, this vampire vs. werewolf rivalry has gotten out of hand. Sure, I’ve publicized the bickering going down on twitter between the folks who manage the werewolves twitter account (@werewolvescom) and the vampire account (@vampires). One, it amuses me, but it’s also good publicity. I might even have stoked things a little now and again, just to keep ‘em at each other’s metaphorical throats. But as Bram Stoker said, vampires and werewolves are really just two sides of the same coin, and a fascination with one or the other is not mutually exclusive. You can easily love BOTH. I mean, I do. There’s no conflict of interest. In the name of concord and coexistence, let us lay aside our differences and bury those broken arrows, or however that’s supposed to work. Let’s give peace a chance!
Here is a cautionary tale for what can happen if we hold on to old grudges. Sheaen Smith, a 29-year-old werewolf from Washington State, murdered his mother, 57-year-old vampire Aurora Buol-Smith, for no other reason than that, because he was one thing and she was the other. (That’s what he told police.) It’s so sad when you see that kind of speciest (as opposed to racist) hate within a family. The fact that the werewolf in question had been released from a hospital a few days earlier after suffering a drug-induced psychotic breakdown, and that the hapless Lycanthrope admitted that he had been “using a lot of meth”, had nothing to do with it. This was a clear-cut case of vampire/werewolf hatred gone too far. No doubt about it.
