Let’s have a look at this compilation, available at the link below, shall we, and see if these are sightings with which we are familiar? Do these reports, all supposedly true, cover all the known territory, the terra cognita, of real-world werewolf lore? The arrest of Peter Stubbe, the Gilles Garnier case, the Beast of Gevaudon? These are all documented, historical cases of werewolfery. All true, in the sense that they are purported to chronicle dealings with actual werewolves, whether the beings involved were physically transformed into wolves or wolf-like beasts or not. How many of them made the list? I’ll risk spoiling it for you. Not a one. This is a list of CONTEMPORARY werewolf sightings. I’ll give you one guess, then, as to which well known monster of recent vintage made the cut.
If you said the Werewolf of Wisconsin, aka the “Beast of Bray Road,” you would be correct. He, or it, or several “its,” all ranging in the same general geographic area, is or are mentioned several times. There are other reports I’ve seen elsewhere, all of which I am familiar with. It’s a cursory list, to be sure, bare-boned, scarce on the details, but a good starting point for anyone who might not have read about them before and is interested in digging for more meat.
I long ago got “caught” wearing my winged demon werewolf costume walking my dogs in the Brickyards of warners NY usa. There is some online reports of a gargoyle like monster haunting the grounds, Love to think it was myself
No worries. I won’t “out” you.
Thank you. I kinda let the beast out of the bag since. I have performed in many haunted houses since. And I loved the attention. Still cant understand why people are scared of us.
No worries. I won’t “out” you. :)
Hi my name is Cynthia (Stubbe) Keller and my relatives are all from Germany.nn I have tried to go back as far as I can but only get to 1700s. How do I find out if I am related to Peter Stubbe. I did the Ancestery and I have a booklet from someone in Germany that dates back to the 1700. How do i go any farther? ty
