True Blood’s New Werewolves

January 2nd, 2010 § 6

What the hell are we doing talking about True Blood, a vampire show, here on this werewolf site?! Well, good news werewolf fans, the third and upcoming season of True Blood is going to be more about the wolves and less about the vamps. So far they have two new were-cast members, the young Marshal Allman and the damn sexy Joe Manganiello.

Joe Manganiello: True Blood fans have been waiting ages to find out who Alan Ball would chose to the play the big role of werewolf Alcide. I have to say that Anna Paquin’s Sookie Stackhouse is just about the luckiest girl ever. Not only does the True Blood beauty get to play with Alex Skarsgård’s vampire Eric and Stephen Moyer’s vampire Bill, but now she gets a gorgeous werewolf, too!

In the books Alcide has been described as a good looking and articulate man that is a bit rough around the edges. In the Sookie Stackhouse novels he gets along pretty well with Sookie, but the show could be a bit different so we’ll see just how well True Blood has them get along – you never know.

You may have seen Joe Manganiello before on How I Met Your Mother, playing the law school student Brad, or on One Tree Hill, playing Owen the barkeep.

Marshal Allman: You may have seen this young Texan on have seen on Fox’s Prison Break, playing the teenage son of Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) or on AMC’s Mad Men and FX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Allman has landed the roll of Tommy Mickens, the long-lost brother of shapeshifter Sam Merlotte. Not much is known so far so we’ll just have to wait and see if he’s a shapeshifter like Sam, but I’m going to guess that he probably is.

So what do you True Blood fans think of the new cast? I have to say I am pretty excited for this upcoming season. Yay!

joe is hott! I’d just like to say as a fan of True blood and the Charlaine Harris books. Both are not just about vampires, their about the supernatural world in general. There is alot more content in relation to werewolves in both mediums than people think. More werewolves is always a good thing!!! :)

  2. As a True Blood fan I was wondering when we were going to get werewolves involved. Looking forward to the 3rd season.
