Upcoming Film the Most Violent Werewolf Movie Ever Made?

There is an upcoming werewolf film that just kicked off pre-production and is already being labeled as the most violent werewolf movie in history. That’s an impressive title considering past werewolf flicks. Word is that Randy Fabert will be directing the upcoming werewolf film Autumn Moon, which is currently set to star Joe Kidd, Randy Fabert, Nathan Grauwelman, Iabou Windimere, Jocelyn Tanis, Richard Aughpin, Larry Combs, Gerri Sutyak, Sonny Burnette and Michael Peake.

Autumn Moon description:

“Pulp writer Michael Renee Allen thought the house on the edge of the woods would be the perfect place to write his next novel. He soon finds that the forest has more to offer than just fresh air and a nice view. Something unspeakable is stalking the forest. A cunning force of pure evil that hunts by night, painting the forest with blood.”

This film doesn’t exactly sound all that innovative to me, but not much has been revealed yet so I can’t be too harsh. So far I am not exactly impressed, the story sounds cliché and the movie poster looks like a rush job. But hopefully the more information we get the better the film sounds.

What are your thoughts on Autumn Moon so far? Do you like gore-crazy werewolf films? Personally, I don’t mind gore as long as it has a place and a point. Random and useless violent scenes bore me, if the serve a purpose then I am good.

  1. Hope it’s also not going for the stupidest and lamest-looking…which every new werewolf movie seems to grab the awards for. The last decent werewolf movie was Cursed.

  2. Co-writer of “Autumn Moon” here. I can assure everyone that we are not going for lame. And it is not going to be gore for the sake of gore. The gore serves the story. And for more info and even some pictures of the early stages of the werewolf sculpt you can check around the web. We have received write-ups on darkriverpress.com. (they had the first exclusive on the film and more recently an article announcing some pretty huge casting news) You can also find pieces on horrorbug.com, dreadcentral and bloodydisgusting. As for the poster, it is a mock-up our director did to give the artist doing the actual poster an idea of what we want. The same artist will be doing the poster for Randy’s other film “Psycho Killer,” which will be hitting the festival circuit later this year.

    Thanks,

  3. While I agree with Moonlight on the idea that gore is great in the right place in the story, it would be interesting to see a non-story driven blood fest simply because that is what the wild is, the forest is governed by survival of the fittest and legend has it that there isn’t much more fit than a werewolf, even against vampires which are the most efficient murderers the werewolf has reason to be feared so to see a movie with not so much of a normal plot and more instinctively driven would be quite interesting. However, that isn’t to say that a movie can be nothing but the fight, nobody wants to sit through a two hour movie of a werewolf massacring everything in its path, if that is what you intend than I would suggest making a video game, that would at least keep player more interested.
