The Lycanthropous Stream

April 20th, 2010 § 23

There’s a folktale that tells the story of a peasant that desperately wished to become a werewolf. To do this he simply waited for a night when the moon was full, knelt by the side of a lycanthropous stream at midnight and recited these words:

“Tis night! Tis night! and the moon shines white over pine and snow capped hill. The shadows stray through burn and brae and dance in the sparkling rill.”
Tis night! Tis night! and the devils light casts glimmering beams around. The maras dance, the nisses prance on the flower enameled ground.”
Tis night! Tis night! and the the werewolf’s might makes man and nature shiver.
Yet its fierce grey head and stealthy tread are nought to thee, oh river!
River, River, River
Oh water strong, that swirls along I prithee a werewolf make me.
Of all things dear, my soul, I swear, In death shall not forsake thee.”

The peasant then strikes the shore of the stream three times with his forehead, and then dips his head into the water three times, each time swallowing a mouthful of the water.

This is all it would take for him to become a werewolf, all that was left was for him to wait 24 hours for his first transformation as a wolf.

According to myths, Lycanthropous water is said to seem very similar to regular water, with only a few minor differences.  First off, a faint odor, smelling like nothing you have smelt before, distinguishes lycanthropous water. Second, it has a very unusual sparkle to it. Third, the water makes peculiar noises as it flows, noises that sound like the whispering of human voices. Some nights these whispering voices turn into terrifying screams and howls. Dogs and horses are said to exhibit the greatest amount of fear at the sound of these horrifying cries.

why do vampires suck? what did they ever do 2 u? not that object. They can get really boring at times.

you probably wont like this answer but i hope it helps. you have to find a stream thats on a werewolves teritory. im gueesing the reason you want to find one of these is because you cant find werewolves to turn you…..so yeah. the best way to find a werewolf pack is to go to a remote area like the appalachian mountains and set up camp there. talk to the locals about werewolf sightings see if you can pinpoint a location. once you have a good place do something to draw attention to yourself and others why in the forest(not a hiking trail but out in the middle of nowhere). you may be encountered by a group of scragly people. they will try there best to get you to leave their territory. tell them in a beat around the bush kind of way that you want to join them, just incase there normal people. hope i helped. be careful when hunting for a pack of werewolves.

Something strange is happening to me, I don’t believe in fairy tales likes wolves and vampires, but still I’m gonna ask for help here, my muscles growed 4times bigger on 1 night, I can jump extremely high and became much faster, I have better reflexes and have greater power…. I’m not asking for a mythological explanation but any help would be appreciated, I swear I’m not lying or laughing , it’s true, my housedocter couldn’t explain what is happening to me :s

    • BrenDuh says:

steroids aren’t good for your health, so you should stop taking them. that’s probably why ur muscles are a growing there. jk jk idk wut to tell ya…..wut’s your ethnicity? sometimes if you research about ur backgrounds and look up legends or myths from ur culture, somethings pop up that are crazy, but sometimes explainable. i’m native for instance and when i hear about my traditions, backgrounds of my tribes (i’m 2 diff tribes) i hear alot of stories of my ancestors…it’s interesting really.

  5. destiny says:

MICHAEL, you should try finding something inside of you that you’ve never discovered before, like a newly earned habit or ritual that you have acquired during your times of change. I personally think it’s puberty, but to an extent that is fairly surprising.

  6. jeff says:

can anyone tell me were i can find this stream or river or any places or sightings this stream or river was found, any help will be appreciated

  7. nyrell says:

how do i find dids stream i want da real answer

  8. Madison says:

Well Michael, there is always a chance that its just that your father or your relatives went through the same thing when they were around your age. There may or may not be a mythological reasoning for it. Ask your father or maybe even grandfather if you have any strange pasts in your family. But there is for sure a reason for your change in body structure, ext. I have often heard of this from young boys who recently been on a camping trip or something and confronted a wolf like being.

“The peasant then strikes the shore of the stream three times with his forehead…”
This was interesting, but this line right here completely ruined the mood for me.
I read it, invisioned some guy kneeling in the mud banging his head on the ground, and I laughed so hard I choked a little.

  10. josh says:

i wish i could become a werewolf, they are better then vampires especially if its controllable, increased strength and agility, razor sharp claws, and teeth that could bleed out a bear, and unlike vampires you wont burn up in the sun, the whole body like one weapon….if only there was some certainty of real or fake, fact or folklore.

    • anon says:

“real or fake fact or folklore”, if you think about it like a scientist or a detective its quite easy to see that there has to be some truth behind all of it. not to say that all of its true. all over the world before anyone had any form of sea crossing transportation there were werewolf reports and drawings on cave walls. there are an astounding amount of people who believe in these creatures, along with an astounding amount of sightings through out the world. the mountain gorilla was once thought to be a myth.

  11. Micah says:

Lol…people why the hell do you wanna be werewolves xD. I believe in them too..but really? Wooow….lol

  12. Strive says:

If you notice a drastic drop in deep populations between moon cycles in your local area should you be concerned?

  13. WOLFKID99 says:

Can anyone manage to explain why I keep having visions of a single lone wolf…

Its really beginning to creep me out. Help is appreciated, and no, im not crazy.
