Taylor Lautner Dishes on Kissing Kristen Stewart & More

As every team Jacob fan knows, June 30 is the big day, the day The Twilight Saga: Eclipse hits theaters! But out of all the amazing scenes in the flick, there is one above all others that fans are dying to see – Bella and Jacob’s kissing scene. Since we still have a few weeks to go before we can see the big kiss, all we can do is read about what Taylor Lautner (aka Jacob Black) has to say about the kiss, as well as his thoughts on hating Edward.

The interview started out by asking Taylor the big question – what it was like filming the kissing scene with Kristen Stewart.

“As soon as we finished, as soon as we pulled away and they called cut, she’d look at me and I’d look at her and there would be a moment of silence, and she would go… ‘We just kissed!’ It’s definitely interesting but when we film, we become Jacob and Bella.”

All I hope if is a sexy kissing scene, there better not be any painful looks on his face like when Edward kisses Bella (which makes me cringe every time I see it). Anyway, Taylor then went on to discuss vampire Edward and werewolf Jacob’s battle for Bella’s human heart, a battle in which, as we all know, Edward wins in the end.

“[Jacob] becomes a little frustrated, because he always gets so close — he kisses her this time!” he said. “He becomes as close as you can get and still gets told no. It’s a tough situation; I definitely would not want to be in it.”

Taylor may have thought that kissing real-life friend Kristen was weird, but according to him the scenes he has with Robert Pattinson were even harder.

“One of the most challenging things about filming this was having to hate Edward, because I’m looking at Rob and it was difficult,” Taylor explained. “Every time we’d have a shouting match or he’d grab me on the shoulder or something, as soon as they called cut, we’d bust out laughing. Or we’d ruin plenty of takes.”

Wouldn’t you love to see them messing up scenes like that? I hope the Eclipse DVD has bloopers on it with just those.

A Perfectly Planned Date with Jacob

Maybe this is the 12 year-old girl in me coming out – or I’m just hopping on the Twilight bandwagon – but either way, who hasn’t thought about heading out on a date with Jacob (aka Taylor Lautner)? OK for you dudes out there, how about a man date?

Here are some ideas for what a lady should do on a date with the handsome werewolf, and some tips for a bromance:

Plan a picnic: Keep the raw meat at home, ladies. Jacob may be an animal, but he’s a big and beautiful thumping lad underneath it all. Cut some fresh flowers from a nearby field and place them in a basket, tied to perfection. Purchase some wine, cheese, crackers and light meaty pâté to quench his animalistic appetite. To top this date off, purchase some dark red dipped strawberries and feed them to each other.

Off the beaten path: Fellas, who doesn’t like a roam in the woods? On your man date, ask Jacob to take you on a tour of the woods he is familiar with. Make sure to tighten-up those hiking boots and pack tons of bug spray. When you come to that infamous cliff, take one for the team and jump your heart out! It’ll be worth it, living like the inner cub deep down inside of you.

For the two of you: This idea is a little different but both sexes can play reporter. Executing this plan takes some thinking outside of the box; grab a leather-bound pad and pen and start asking Jacob questions about what it’s like to be a creature of the night. Really try to get to the heart of his psyche and sympathize with him.

Acting With Werewolves: Harder Than You Think

Actually, working on set with the real life wolves that play werewolves in movies and TV shows is what’s really hard. Here’s an inside look at the wolves in your favorites shows, like True Blood.

As most True Blood fans know, the upcoming third season is all about the werewolves, and the producers used real life wolves instead of CGI. But it turns out they had a few snags during the filming, they were racing to finish certain scenes, but not because of the budget or air dates. Nope, they needed to wrap it up before the wolves shed their winter coats.

“We had to work on their timeline,” says executive producer Gregg Fienberg. The 120-pound gray wolves’ lighter summer coat would make them look much smaller and less intimidating, which doesn’t work with their werewolf role. “We can’t suddenly have wolves that look different.”

That’s just one small issue shows have working with the furry high maintenance stars. But it’s their only option. Only the big-budget movies that can afford to create those fancy expensive computer-generated werewolves, but TV, with its smaller budgets, are usually stuck with real wolves.

Take The Twilight Saga: Eclipse for example, it took a team of around six visual-effects experts up to six weeks to create Jacob and his pack, which is one HUGE price tag. As for live wolves, while the price varies, it’s usually $500 to rent them for a day. Since wolves prefer to travel in packs, six or seven wolves may join the actor wolf, but producers don’t have to pay for those extras.

Now here’s where working with wolves gets really difficult – the wolves, even those raised in captivity, are a huge pain in the ass, because well, they’re wolves not dogs. All human actors must be warned constantly not to pet the wolves, and have to sit through loads of safety seminars. Cologne and perfume and absolutely forbidden on set since they upset the wolves and all food must be cleared from the immediate area as per rules provided by the American Humane Association’s Film & TV Unit.

Before he was cast as werewolf Alcide on True Blood, Joe Manganiello had little experience working with animals. Working with real wolves took some getting used to. Once during a break between scenes, the actor had to rush through a crowd of extras and off the sound stage after crew members spotted him eating turkey. “All I heard was ‘Are you out of your mind!? The wolves are coming,”‘ he recalls.

Since wolves are so skittish, they need to arrive on set a day or two before filming begins so that they can have private time to sniff around and get comfortable with the area. On top of that, they also get their own air-conditioned trailers, with separate compartments for each wolf, which is where they rest between scenes.

Every wolf eats three to four pounds of raw meat and high-protein food daily and needs loads of breaks. “They’re worse than children,” says director Michael Lehmann.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Soundtrack Revealed!

Good news Twilight werewolf fans and music lovers! The tracklisting for the Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack has been released. Muse, Sia, The Dead Weather and Vampire Weekend have all been confirmed to feature on the soundtrack, plus a whole bunch of other amazing musicians.

Some of the songs on the album include ‘Rolling In On A Burning Tire,’ a new song from The Dead Weather and ‘Let’s Get Lost’ which Beck and Bat For Lashes have collaborated on.

Muse have also contributed a new song titled ‘Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)’, which will be the lead single on the upcoming soundtrack. Then you’ve got the increasingly popular Vampire Weekend, who have provided the new track ‘Jonathan Low’.

The soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be released on June 8, with the film itself hitting theaters on June 30.

I have to admit that I am pretty excited about this soundtrack, even though the New Moon album was pretty disappointing. But this one has an interesting lineup. There are quite a few incredible musicians on the list, like Sia (who I love) and The Bravery, as well as some unknown bands that will (hopefully) blow us all away.

Werewolves Kick Vampire Ass In New Eclipse Trailer

Get ready Twilight lovers! The small town of Forks is about to be overrun with a vampire army, and the blood will flow! Thank to the werewolves.

In the new Eclipse trailer, which recently premiered on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), are forced to put their differences aside for a bit to take down the ruthless Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) and her newborn vampire army.

The newest Eclipse trailer really shows the darker tone that was evident in The Twilight Saga’s third book – there’s more action, more drama and more bloody chaos. The trailer gives us a first look at Victoria’s ferocious vampire army – including her right-hand-man Riley, played by newcomer to the Twilight flicks, Xavier Samuel.

Most importantly, the werewolf fans also get a small look at the epic battle between the werewolves and vampires, which as all you guys know, brings the Cullens and Jacob’s pack together against one common enemy. We get to see a small but kickass glimpse of the werewolves battling it out against the naughty newborn vamps, which you have to admit, looks awesome!

But the big thing the trailer doesn’t show is the one thing nearly all Twilight fans want to see – the kiss! You guys know exactly what kiss I am talking about. Anyone else as excited as I am for that one scene? Eeee!

Even though Eclipse doesn’t hit theaters until June 30 (sooo long!), the fans can look forward to the May 13 episode of Oprah’s talk show, when Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will all be paying a visit. Woo!

So what do you guys think of the new trailer? Are you looking forward to this flick more than the past Twilight movies? Personally I am way more excited about this one than I was for the last two, probably because of the kiss and the fact that we get to see way more wolf action.

The Big Werewolf War in Eclipse: Sneak Peek!

Yeah yeah, I know werewolf fans everywhere are usually aghast at the idea of werewolves in the Twilight Saga, but hey, –I’ve seen it, and I’m impressed, personally. Though, they aren’t really werewolves as we traditionally see them; they’re sort of shapeshifters. The werewolves in Twilight are a little similar to the whole shapeshifter culture that you might encounter in True Blood; ‘shifters’ dislike werewolves, in True Blood. While in the Twilight Saga, the werewolves are really just larger than life wolves. While on one hand, it’s nice to see more “wolf” in the creature, it’s easy to see how horror lovers want more gore, and less lore.

There’s a new sneak preview of the Eclipse film out there, driving Team Jacob crazy. Don’t bother searching Google, –the most popular video result is only about three minutes long. We have one that’s almost seven minutes long.

As for the question posed in Celebs-Gather, over who Bella will choose, –pretty much everyone who watches the movies has read the series about nine million times. And his name is “Taylor Lautner”, Lautner being the surname. Duh. But kudos for having the awesome video.

The longer video has more cast input from Eclipse, more scenes from the film, and more behind the scenes footage as well; the post in Celebs-Gather also includes a deleted scene from New Moon, –though, it kind of sucks. There was like, a solid 60 seconds of totally unnecessary conversation. Kind of easy to see why it was deleted in the first place. The DVD issued from Target includes a ton of extra features, including deleted scenes, and a bunch of other featurettes, while Best Buy competes with.. packaging.

Fans of 30 Days of Night will appreciate the next film in the saga a bit more knowing that the director of 30 Days, David Slade, has taken on Eclipse, and plans to turn it into a much more violent, action packed film than its predecessors.

Do Werewolves Need a Little More Girl Power?

When talking about werewolves, we usually have the tendency to refer to them in the masculine sense. “He changed” or “the werewolf licked his wounds” are common phrases found in werewolf history. But what about all the women? Very little is said about female werewolves, especially in a historical sense, and even when they are mentioned, very few are given a name such as the “She-Wolf.” In fact, if you had to think of a few historical women werewolves, would you be able to name any except for this most infamous lady wolf?

What’s even more interesting is not only the fact that there are little to no women werewolves found in history, but that history doesn’t mind blaming women for turning men into wolves. Often it was a witch that would turn a man into a wolf or, it was sometimes the succession of birth that would turn a boy into a werewolf – as though it was the mother’s fault for not having him sooner or later. This classical depiction of a woman being the man’s demise is nothing new. In fact, it reaches as far back as the earliest Christianity books when Eve tempted Adam with the forbidden fruit. But even though women have been highly accredited with turning man into beast, there is still very little mention of women werewolves in the history books.

Today, authors such as Patricia Briggs and movies like Eclipse are doing a lot to change the face of women in werewolf folklore. Briggs’ Alpha and Omega novels feature Anna, the Omega werewolf heroine. And it will be in Eclipse that we get to see Leah Clearwater helping Jacob fight off evil vampires. But still, in the Alpha and Omega series, Anna is a somewhat weak werewolf that needs her mate, Charles’, help with much of what she does. And even though Leah Clearwater is tough in her own right, she is still largely portrayed as a whiny annoying girl that won’t leave Jacob alone in the book.

So when are we going to start seeing some tough, kick ass women werewolves? I’m sure that there are a few out there that I’m missing but, when I can’t think of five off the top of my head, that tells me that the world of werewolves definitely needs a little more girl power!

Boo Boo Stewart will Play Seth Clearwater in Eclipse

Just a couple of days ago I wrote a post on how Julia Jones will be playing Leah Clearwater in the movie Eclipse, which will be released June 30, 2010. While Leah was the first new wolf I thought of when considering which ones we meet see, another wolf we’ll be introduced to in Eclipse is Seth Clearwater, Leah’s younger brother. And after finding out who would be playing Leah, I had to find out who would take on the role of Seth.

And that would be Boo Boo Stewart. If you’ve never heard of Boo Boo before, it might be because he’s only 15 years old. But he’s still got a lot of entertainment experience under his belt. He’s mostly known for his role as Ben in The Conrad Boys , an independent film, and in addition to Eclipse, he also has another independent project coming up, American Cowslip. But Boo Boo hasn’t only done independent work. He’s also been on many television shows such as Everybody Hates Chris, ER, and Dante’s Cove. Boo Boo landed the role after auditioning in LA after the open casting calls.

I was first wary when I heard of Boo Boo. I mean come on, what kind of name is that? And I actually held it against him even a little more once I heard that’s his stage name, meaning that he actually chose it. But, he actually looks sort of perfect for the part and has oodles of acting experience under his belt, especially seeing as how he’s only 15 years old. And matching him up with Julia Jones seems like a really good fit to me too.

We’re sure to see much more of Boo Boo after Eclipse is released this summer. These movies do huge things for the career of anyone who’s in them. Oh, and Boo Boo’s real name by the way, is Nils Stewart. Which I also happen to think is a much better ‘stage’ name.

Julia Jones Will Play Leah Clearwater in Eclipse

New Moon mania has finally seemed to die down a bit and of course that means that now, we can all begin obsessing about Eclipse. I have to say that Eclipse might be one of those movies that I actually enjoy more than the book because the book I didn’t find all that fascinating. I didn’t even really care for the character of Leah Clearwater in the book. I know that Stephenie Meyer was going for the whole ‘irritating girl that saves the day’ kind of thing but, I just didn’t feel it with Leah. She was just annoying to me. But I think seeing that part played out on screen might be much better, especially when the part’s being played by Julia Jones.

Julia Jones, 28, isn’t very well known around Hollywood just yet although she’s creative in her own right and has studied at The Boston Ballet School since she was 4. She also played the role of Gigi in the 2003 movie The Look and appeared on ER for a few episodes. Understandably, there was a lot of competition for the role and a lot of young starlets desperately wanted the chance to become part of the Twilight Saga. Vanessa Hudgens, from High School Musical auditioned for the part while Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl), Jessica Lowndes (90210), and Kristen Kreuk (Smallville) were all contenders that Julia beat out for the part. Radar Online caught up with Julia before the holidays to talk about what’s surely to be her breakout role. You can check that video out here.

I’m excited to see Julia Jones take on the role as Leah Clearwater. I hadn’t heard of her before she was cast for the movie but I can definitely see her in the role of Leah. And hey, who knows, she might even make me end up liking the character a little more.

Emily Blunt Talks The Wolfman

Taylor Lautner and Chaske Spencer aren’t the only hot wolves that we’ll see on the big screen in 2010 and much before we see the Eclipse in June, we’ll get to see other big names such as Emily Blunt, Anthony Hopkins, and Benicio Del Toro either take on wolf forms or fight them. All of this will happen in the movie The Wolfman, which is due in theaters in February 2010. In this werewolf movie that’s set early in the 1800s, a brother returns to his hometown in England upon his brother’s fiance’s insistence, to investigate the disappearance of his brother. Upon arriving, he and the rest of the family quickly find out about all the horrors that lay there, and just how both brothers fit into it all.

One of the things that excites me most about this movie is that we get to see Emily Blunt in action. Blunt is an English starlet that I don’t think we get to see or hear nearly enough of. She recently sat down with Craze Online to discuss her most current project, Adjustment Bureau, in which she plays a young portrayal of Queen Victoria. Luckily, the talk turned away from early-day real life to early-day fantasy as Emily started discussing how it felt to play a role in which she ran from unnatural beasts, and whether or not she believes in the whole ‘were’ phenomenon. This excerpt comes from Crave Online,

“Q: You have a couple of big projects coming out in 2010, with The Wolfman and Gulliver’s Travels. What’s it like working in such fantastical worlds?

Emily Blunt: It’s funny because The Wolfman was a different kind of genre for me. The thing with The Wolfman is that it’s quite hard to do those genres sometimes because you want to have the characters react in a very real way to something that’s so otherworldly and supernatural that you’ve never had experience with that yourself. I’ve never come across a Wolfman. I don’t believe in it. So to have your whole existential bubble burst and try to react and show that in a realistic way was tricky. It helped that Benicio [Del Toro], as the Wolfman, looks absolutely f*cking terrifying. That helps transport you because it really makes your skin crawl, it’s so frightening. So, yeah, when I got chased by the Wolfman, I ran for my life. I hate being chased, number one. That’s my pet hate. When I was a kid, my mom would chase me up the stairs for a joke and I would cry. I hated it. So now, I’m living my nightmare in this movie. It was really fun!”

Seeing her in that movie is enough to make me want to go. But hearing Emily Blunt describe Benicio Del Toro as looking “f*cking terrifying” just intrigues me even more! Hopefully it turns out as good as it sounds.
