Spice & Wolf: Complete Series Coming Soon to DVD and Blu-ray

Spice & Wolf is an anime series that I have mentioned in the past. It’s not technically a werewolf show, but it does star a wolf girl with animalistic instincts. So it’s sort of in the realm of werewolfism. I know we have a few fans of the show here, which is why I am sharing that Spice & Wolf the complete series is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on September 11, 2012. Woo! No you can enjoy every furry-eared episode back to back.  Check out the details and bonus features below:

Her name is Holo – a harvest goddess with an untamed beast lurking inside who longs to return to her beloved northern home. Armed with his street smarts and her animal instincts, a simple peddler and a forgotten deity begin a journey through the wild countryside. Along their path, the riches of happiness shall be reaped, even as the bankruptcy which dwells in the human heart is exposed.”

  1. So, she’s a monstrous wolf…but all we see of her is that annoying Kemonomimi “pre-teen human girl with animal ears and tail” crap throughout the whole series. Pass.

  2. Spice and Wolf is more plot-driven, based on economics. It’s a nice series, but if you’re looking for werewolf badass-ery, then you’re not going to find much (there’s two times where she does becomes a wolf though). However, if trickery and plotting are your thing, you’ll find a lot of it. =)

@Kaleb, there’s no season 3. A lot of animes stop at 1 or 2 seasons. If you still want more Spice and Wolf, try checking out the light novels (17 in all).

  3. No, there are currently no plans for a season 3. Although I find it unlikely, I’m still hopeful. I’m currently reading all of the light novels that are available to the U.S. right now. As slowly as they’re coming out over here, I’ll be well into my thirtys before I get to finish the damn story. Kinda sucks.
