New Werewolf Coming to True Blood!

February 16th, 2011 § 2

It’s all over Internet-town, –it’s all anyone can blog about! There’s going to be a sexy new face in the werewolf line-up: Daniel Buran is coming to True Blood, and it’s going to cause something of a fuss, because he’s going to be revealed as the packmaster of the Shreveport werewolves. That’s definitely going to shake things up for Alcide, who has to almost literally, be this guy’s bitch. Buran’s joining in the role of ‘Raoul’, –weird name for a Caucasian looking werewolf, but okay, and on top of that, he’s not nearly as butch looking as Alcide; he even looks younger too. How they plan to make this Raoul guy look tougher than Alcide is anyone’s guess. Or maybe he’s meant to be the wiener in this season; the blogs have hinted that there might be a werewolf showdown, so chances are, Alcide might kick this little dude’s ass!

E! Online has the scoop on True Blood new werewolf, and what he’ll be doing in town:

The fur is about to fly in Bon Temps! HBO has confirmed to us the report that Daniel Buran has been cast as a werewolf in the upcoming fourth season of True Blood.

Where does the new hairy beast fit in with the rest of the TB gang?…

Daniel will be playing Raoul, the Shreveport packmaster. Which means he’ll be above Alcide (Joe Manganiello) in terms of werewolf rank. His role is described as “tough and intense,” and he’ll be recurring in at least seven episodes. Raoul’s first appearance will be in episode 4.05, titled “I Hate You, I Love You.” Guess we’ll be getting a werewolf showdown as well as a witch war this season. True Blood is back in June, so prepare fangbangers!

I can’t wait to see some werewolves tearing into each other; it always seems like vampires and werewolves are pitted against each other, but werewolf fights are way more visual. Vampire fights are too fast to even see what’s going on, but werewolves in the thick of it are brutal. And personally, if Alcide has seven episodes with which to get the best of the new packmaster, then the new guy doesn’t stand a chance. One of my personal wishes for the next season is to see a werewolf eat a vampire… or a witch; I’m flexible. The book that this season is based on is really one of the best, so we’re tres excited to see what happens!

I’m curious to see where they go with this since they are tweaking the character of the packmaster from how he is described in the books. I love this show and can’t wait to see this season.
