New Video Game ‘Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves’ is Coming!

An awesome new video game titled Sang-Froid : Tales of Werewolves is coming soon! The indie game recently received the greenlight from Valve and will soon be available to play on Steam. Hurray for werewolf video games! Check out the game details, some screenshots and the trailer below.

About the game:

304420_353917878027256_1597846578_nCombining action and strategy in a unique way, Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves transports you into an epic folktale co-written with best-selling Canadian author Bryan Perro (Amos Daragon, Wariwulf), in which two feuding brothers will have to put aside their differences to save their sister, who is pursued by the Devil himself!

This time however, sheer brute strength won’t be enough to save the day as your enemies are way stronger than you are. Only your wits and the ability to combine ingenious traps to setup deadly ambushes will give you a chance to see the sun rise again on your frozen piece of forest…

  • Plan your strategy! – Take advantage of the calm during the day to fill your forest with all kinds of traps that are as inventive as they are deadly.
  • Hunt your enemies! – When night falls, use the wind and lure the diabolic beasts into your traps using bait… But watch out! You have to be on constant guard to make sure you don’t become the prey of the beasts you are tracking!
  • Fight heroically! – If some of the beasts get past your traps, that’s when it gets bloody! First you can shoot them with your trusty musket and then eliminate the ones that survive by slaughtering them with your axe! Action and carnage guaranteed!
  • Use fear to your advantage! – All the mechanics of the game revolve around the innovative concept of Fear Factor, which makes your ability to intimidate your enemy your best weapon. For example, use fire to frighten the wolves and scatter their packs.
  • Customize your character! – Choose one of the two O’Carroll brothers and develop your character using a skill system based on role-playing games (RPGs), making your hero as unique as he is powerful!
  • Discover a rich universe! – Immerse yourself in 19th century Canada where legends meet History in a world filled with lore and wonders. Buy historical weapons and items, fight mythical beasts and uncover the truth about werewolves…

  1. Awesome would not be a word I’d describe this game as, more like sick or disgusting…

I like werewolves but this game is more like a sick wolf killers wet dream; you set traps and shoot to kill wolves/werewolves… I’m sorry but a game that you murder them relentlessly is not something I’d consider a wolf/werewolf person would like at all…

Now if you could play as the wolves/werewolves that would be another thing; but otherwise definitely not interested in this game at all.

  2. Looks interesting enough, though I can’t say I’m thrilled about the fact you’d be killing wolves, so I’m not going to bother with the game. Werewolves, fine, but killing wolves is not cool. Way to shine the species in a bad light again….

Its too bad, too, because I got excited when I read it was based in my country. You never see that. Ever.

  3. Where are the bipedal engines of carnage? This is just, despite what the storyline says, you as the usual intruder upon nature, killing normal-looking wolves who don’t want you there. Pass. Call me when someone makes a game about fighting or playing as real werewolves rather than glorifying canadian wolf-hunts.

  4. Ok, there are actual bipedal werewolves…still not cool with the idea of regular wolves being in there, though. I’ll check this game out on release.

    1. You can always check out Lone Wolf, the beat-em up video game where you play as a martial artist werewolf. lonewolfgame dot com youtube channel name is lonewolfgame as well.

  5. I was excited for moment to hear of a modern werewolf video game, but that quickly changed when it appeared that you can’t play as a werewolf. Then I noticed the normal wolves, and the Paul Bunyan hunters. This is a wolf killing game, like that “Dangerous Hunts” idea all over again. How many wolves are still alive in our world right now? How about in the country you live? I feel bad being like an angry mother saying Grand Theft Auto is turning their children into murderous drug dealers, but if I see people enjoying themselves while shooting an endangered species with a falsified bad reputation in a video game, I feel like they are less likely to be compassionate towards one of our last fellow intelligent carnivores in the real world too.
