Never Cry Wolf by Cynthia Eden

It has been a while since I scanned Amazon for any upcoming werewolf books, so when I did my search today I figured I’d get loads of new results, but instead, I got one, one new werewolf book added to the upcoming novels list. When is the werewolf book boom hitting? We need more books! Anyway, the book is Never Cry Wolf by Cynthia Eden and of course, it’s another werewolf romance, nothing wrong with that but it would be nice if 99% of werewolf books weren’t romances. If you’re a fan of werewolf romances then keep your eyes open for this one, which hits bookstores June 28, 2011.

“Lucas Simone is not the kind of guy you mess with. He’s big, he’s strong, and his eyes hint at a wilder side most women can’t handle. Of course, that’s because his predatory instincts are no metaphor—he’s a genuine Grade-A top-quality werewolf, tough enough to fight his way to dominance over the scariest pack on the West Coast. There’s only one chink in his armor. Unlike most alpha dogs, Lucas has a reputation for protecting the weak and innocent.

Sarah King is counting on that protective impulse—it’s the only thing standing between her and certain death. There are only two problems: one, she’s not quite as innocent as she’d like Lucas to believe. And two, if he doesn’t stop stoking Sarah’s animal lust, it’s only a matter of time before her own wild side gets unleashed…”

You can read an excerpt from the book HERE.

After reading the plot description and the excerpt I can comfortably say that I’ll be passing on this book. Personally I prefer to read books where the female lead saves herself, I’ve never been a big fan of the damsel in distress routine and the romance novels that I do read (and love) feature characters who save each other – not the man always protecting and/or saving the woman. But to each their own, right? I know plenty of ladies who love these books. What do you think, will you be picking up a copy of Never Cry Werewolf?

  1. No way! I have seen dozens of these low standard books on the markets, however cheap they were I still wouldn’t buy them, cheap same covers, over build guy with petite help me girl with lust and sex always on their minds; great like you said if you like that stuff but definitely not for me. When will something great come out!!!!

  2. this lucas character sounds like a douchbag and sarah is one of those typical girls thats just so flushed by a hot muscular guy thats flurting with her……. when is there going to be an author who is going to change it up a bit?

  3. I definitely don’t sound interested in this. When I think werewolves I think uncontrollable beasts and the people who love it or the ones that want nothing more to be rid of the curse.
