By the time you are reading this, the event chronicled will likely already be over. I wouldn’t have been able to go anyway. Or, as I am writing this article BEFORE the event is scheduled to take place, it would be more accurate to say that I WON’T be able to attend. Probably those of you, reading this now after the fact, wouldn’t have been able to attend, either. Those who MIGHT be able to attend, those of you in the area and aware of it, probably DID attend. Or should that be WILL attend?
Okay, this is getting confusing. Better to stop now and get to the meat of the article.
The “event” of which I am speaking—writing—is, or WAS, again depending on when you’re reading this, a meet and greet with author Linda Godfrey hosted by the Walworth County Historical Society in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, on Thursday May 11. Ms. Godfrey is the world’s foremost expert on Wisconsin’s very own werewolf, the “Beast of Bray Road.” She has written numerous books on it and other real-world werewolves. She will be, or was, signing copies of those books for those who will attend/did attend the event. I wish I could have made it. Or HAD made it. Who the heck knows, maybe I DID make it! Since it hasn’t happened yet, for me, there’s still hope!
