Remember when Captain America got turned into a werewolf? If you’re a comic book fan, you’re probably asking, “Which time?” Or you might even be asking, “Which Captain America?” (Both Steve Rogers and the-Falcon-dressed-up-as-Captain-America have both spent some time in lupine form.) There’s a new action figure available from the Marvel Legends line that pays homage to that, to those, ahem, literary high points. Okay, all it is, really, is a Captain America figure with an interchangeable werewolf head. Not even a particularly detailed werewolf head, either. No claws, no other fur. Eh, somebody’ll probably buy it. Me, I think I’ll pass.
This does get me thinking, though. What’s your favorite werewolf action figure? Mine would probably be my Universal Monsters Wolfman (the Lon Chaney Jr. version), tied with my Universal Monsters Wolfman (the Benicio Del Toro version), with my DARK SHADOWS Wolfman coming in second. Then I love my little Lego Monsters figure werewolf. I’ve even got a cape-wearing lycanthrope from the set of figures released for the PRINCE CASPIAN movie, and he’s pretty cute. Outside of these and a Raze figure from the original UNDERWORLD movie, the coolest werewolf figures I own wouldn’t be true werewolves at all, but Wargs from THE HOBBIT and THE LORD OF THE RINGS movie series. Those are some freaky fearsome figures!
I still wait longingly for them to make a figure based on the monster in BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF. Maybe someday…
Of all my Action figures, The most favorite I have would be a triple tie between TMNT Rhazar, The Werewolf figure from Ghostbusters and The
SHOGAKUKAN werewolf . but wow there are literally hundreds maybe a thousand of them here. and i deeply love them all.
That Ghostbusters werewolf figure IS pretty cool.
I agree, I never pass on any of the werewolf figures I see at thrift shops and garage sales. We need a place to share pics. I would love to show some of my collection. of all my werewolf statues. The top is Moonsinger cause he has balls.”literally” :)
