A Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook for the Paranormal

I’m sure you have all heard of the Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbooks, they’re ridiculously popular and there are LOADS of versions – regular edition, extreme edition, parenting edition, wedding edition, man skills edition – and on and on and on, there are a lot of them. And hitting bookstores May 11, 2011 is a new one, The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Paranormal. That’s right folks, the latest addition to the humorous collection of survival info delves into the dark and sinister world of ghosts, vampires and of course, werewolves.

“On hit TV shows, in best-selling books, blockbuster films, video games, and comics, pop culture has been overrun by hordes of vampires, zombies, werewolves, ghosts, wizards, and other paranormal creatures. Luckily, the authors of the Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook series are back with all-new, expert advice designed to help readers fend off the furry, fanged, freaky, and frightful. This classic handbook format is packed with new illustrated instructions for crucial scenarios ranging from the domestic (How to Host a Cocktail Party When Your House is Haunted) to the scary (How to Survive a Zombie Attack in the First Day, First Week, and Long Term) to the practical (How to Break Up with a Vampire).”

The authors of this upcoming book are David Borgenicht and Ben Winters. David is best known as the creator and co-author of the Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook series and the publisher of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Ben is the author of Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, and co-author of several titles in the Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook series.

Over on Amazon you can peek inside the book and check out the table of contents, which happens to be packed full of chapters on everything you can think of. While I know this book is meant to be funny and amusing I’m sure the history buff in me will cringe once I read the chapters on werewolf and vampire history, I just can’t help it. But in spite of that I’m looking forward to this one, it’s bound to be highly entertaining. What about you guys, will you pick up a copy of the book?

  1. Interesting. I’ve seen the edition regarding how to survive the end of the world, and found it quite a nice read. I may try to get my hands on a copy.
