A Decade’s Worth of Werewolf Movies: 1960s

Looking back on each decade of werewolf movies shows that werewolves are eternal, we’ll never stop loving them and never stop watching them. Today I continue this series with the werewolf movies of the 1960s.

La casa del terror: English title “House of Terror.” About an insane professor who is secretly draining blood from wax museum guard Casimiro to use in experiments in raising the dead – like that of the dead Wolf Man.

The Curse of the Werewolf: About a young man growing up in Spain who is cursed with lycanthropy.

House on Bare Mountain: A naughty movie about the Wolfman, Dracula and Frankenstein who spy on a girls’ school in the mountains. A school where most of the girls spend their time sunbathing in the nude, exercising nude and attending class nude.

Lycanthropus: At an all girl’s school, several students are murdered by a wolf-man-like creature and suspicion falls upon the new teacher.

Frankestein el vampiro y compañía: English title “Frankenstein, the Vampire and Co.” A comedy about two screw-ups that get mixed up with monsters, mad scientists and werewolves.

Beauty and the Beast: In this version of the popular story, Eduardo is cursed to transform into a werewolf every night and only a woman who loves him for who he is can end the curse.

Ye ban ren lang: English title “Midnight Were-wolf.” A strange werewolf movie from Hong Kong, directed by Fung Wong.

Santo en el museo de cera: English title “Santo/Samson in the Wax Museum.” Another movie in the infamous Santo series, this time the wrestler investigates a series of kidnappings and comes across all sorts of creatures, including the wolf man.

Devil Wolf Of Shadow Mountain: A western about a cowboy that drinks from a wolf’s paw print and becomes infected with lycanthropy.

Face Of The Screaming Werewolf: About a doctor that brings two mummies back to life, one of which is a werewolf.

Ursus, il terrore dei Kirghizia: English title “Hercules, Prisoner of Evil.” A movie about Hercules, who battles an evil sorceress that turns men into werewolves.

La Loba: English title “The She-Wolf.” A film about a rich Mexican girl that turns into a murderous werewolf at night.

Orgy of the Dead: Another naughty movie featuring all sorts of evil creatures, including a werewolf.

El charro de las Calaveras: English title “Rider of the Skulls.” About a cowboy that battles against evil forces like witches, zombies and a werewolf.

Demonio azul: English title “Blue Demon.” Another Mexican wrestling film, this time about the Blue Demon, who takes on a bunch of evil beings, including the Wolf Man.

Munster, Go Home!: About the famous monster family, The Munsters, who inherit a mansion in England, but find that they have to deal with jealous relatives.

Mad Monster Party?: An animated movie about Dr. Frankenstein deciding to retire from the monster-making business. He calls an international roster of monsters to a convention to elect his successor. Everyone is there including Dracula, The Wolf Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and many more.

La marca del Hombre-lobo: English title “Frankenstein’s Bloody Terror.” About a man cursed as a werewolf and seeks help from a doctor and his wife. They both turn out to be vampires and end up dueling it out with the werewolf.

Santo y Blue Demon contra los monstrous: English title: “Santo and Blue Demon Against the Monsters.” This time around Santo and Blue Demon join forces to battle against the monsters.

The Maltese Bippy: About a man who buys a house and comes to believe that not only is the house haunted by werewolves, but a family of vampires lives next door.

Blood of Dracula’s Castle: About a couple and a murderous werewolf that arrive at the house of Count Dracula.
