We’re back for another edition of a decade’s worth of werewolf movies, this time we’ll be taking a look at the furry flicks from the 1950s. Unfortunately, there weren’t all that many werewolf movies made in the 50s. Werewolf films didn’t become really popular until a few decades later (as you can see by this long list).
The Werewolf: A flick about two scientists who come across an car accident and find an unconscious man in the wreckage. They take him back to their lab and inject him with a serum they have been working on. Unfortunately, the serum turns the man into a ravenous werewolf.
El castillo de los monstrous: English title “Castle of Monsters.” About a couple that is forced to stay in, you guessed it, a castle full of monsters.
I Was A Teenage Werewolf: In this cult classic a troubled teen seeks help through hypnotherapy, but his wicked doctor uses him for regression experiments that transform him into a rampaging werewolf.
How to Make a Monster: About Pete, a master movie monster make-up man, who is fired by the new bosses of American International studios, so he uses his creations to exact revenge.
El hombre y el monstrous: English title “The Man and the Monster.” A film about a failed pianist that sells his soul to the devil in return for his becoming the greatest musician in the world. The catch: every time he plays he turns into a ravenous werewolf.
Haram alek: English title “Shame on You.” An Arabic remake of Bud Abbott Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein. About two screw-up who work in an antique shop and get mixed up with a Frankenstein-like monster, a vampire and werewolf.
If there are any werewolf movies from the 1950s that I have missed, please leave a comment and let me know.
